Just been reading about Picasa 3 in 'ComputerActive' it looks pretty good. All I use to edit photgraphs is IrfanView (and PSP7 on my PC when I can understand it).
I would appreciate comments please - Thank You.

I dont use it Buzzy, but I have only ever heard good things about it. A tutor I know who teaches digital photography, swears by it.

As a basic photo organiser and editor I reckon Picasa is first class.
I daresay many of us who have paid out for Paint Shop Pro and/or Photoshop Elements and have, perhaps, found that sophistications like 'layers' are all too much for them, might have taken a look at Picasa and said to themselves "that would have done for me"!!

I agree, you don't need a 250/300+ Mb program, if all you want to do is a bit of cropping and take red eye out. P S Elements is a great program for someone who wants to get into a bit of trick photography, without the expense of buying the full program. Photoshop is for professionals and PSP is for gifted amateurs. Even then there is a huge amount of the last two that people wouldn't use. They cover every aspect of photography and picture building, most people only specialise in one or two things.
If you don't need something keep it simple, is the best rule. The smaller the computer the less you want on it anyway.

It's like an 'itunes' for graphics files and organises your files into sections I have a technophobe friend who's a keen birdwatcher and has thousands of photos
He loves it, and has never complained about it's complexities, like he does for most programs - so it must be good

What I like about it is that you can touch up some photo's (brightness and contrast etc...) and it gives you the choice of sizes to print your photos.
