Didn't realize it was yours Ken. I'm sure Elvis won't have meant anything by it though.
Like your picture Ken. Is it one of your hobbies? Where was it taken?

I took it from the top of the stairs down to the lock at the Navigation pub in Nottingham Lynnrose. I took it with my Olympus SZ 30MR, which suddenly went dead on me shortly afterwards. The Pigeon pictures were taken with my Nikon Coolpix P510, which is the only decent working still camera I have at the moment. I use a Sanyo Xacti for HD movie clips and I find it a first class little pocket camera and the stills are not to bad either. So you might say its a bit of a hobby with me. I was upset when the Olympus packed up as its small enough to carry with me anywhere. I need to send it back before the warrenty runs out.
He has only started posting pictures from NHI since I have been back, trying to provoke me. Even the rose is from the site, but not one of mine. I have advised all the members to copyright all their pictures from now on.

As the image suggests, this is a view of the Edin Project in the middle of absolutely no-where. Nice to visit....once!

I mean to visit that place one of these days Jojo. Imperial Tobacco have had a similar place in the Sierra Morte in Costa Rica, at somewhere around 10.000 feet. I suppose its been up there for best part of 40 years or more and I used to pass it on my way to San Jose and back. They have done a lot for agriculture in Central America, not just tobacco. They terrace mountains the same as the Incas did and grow crops that need a temperate climate. Then they genetically engineer crops to grow on the hot low lands, in the Sierra Morte. They even engineered potatoes that will grow in the rainforest. Instead of moving stuff from one place to another, they simply built a rain forest in the middle of their temperate zone. They say tobbacco kills; but a lot of people around the world would starve, if Imperial Tobbacco shut down in Central America. They have even bred a woolless sheep, that can live in a humid climate without going moldy and has more meat on it than a goat. They talk about genetic engineering as if its bad, but they have been doing it for about 300 years and nobody knew.

That image is of one of the bio-domes and half of the other, plus some of the gardens. The entire project is in its early stages and apparently intended to be a start from basics, ie, limited use of large imported plants. The gardens are essentially a very large botanical garden. Nice, but still very early. One bio-dome is dedicated to temperate zones, such as found in the deserts of Spain, while the other is the tropical zone. The Tropical is, as you might expect, much more advanced. Apparently, the bio-domes are the largest green-houses in the world. The reason I said Nice to visit....once! is simply the journey. Once there, we got a room in a pub which was OK. But essentially, we were glad to be home when we eventually got there. This is a detail from the tropical zone. The actual waterfall is quite a bit bigger though. I'm sure the place will imporve, though sadly, the same won't be said about Cornwall.

Given the right conditions Jojo, the rainforest would outgrow the bio-dome. That big wide leafed plant in the middle, we used to call Wild Bananas. Its not even distantly related to the Banana and its got an orange red flower like a Red Hot Poker. They grow like weeds in the forest, you find clumps of them everywhere and they look beautiful when they are all in flower. You have to be careful when chopping the clumps down, small snakes like the deadly Coral Snake live in the roots. They grow like mad, you chop them down and in 6 months they are as big as they were. They grow to be about 8 or 9 feet tall, but unlike the Banana they have a hard slender stem.

"I'm sure Elvis won't have meant anything by it though" yes you are right LynnRose i did not do it too provoc him and i do not intend on staying on CIT for much longer now that he has come back he will be glad to now. As for this "Its funny I come back and you insist on posting my pictures" funny he did not come back till after i posted the pictures I think he must be getting a bit paranoid in his old age. And i am Blocked by you on NHI so how can i thieve (his words not mine) your pictures. All he had to do was ask nicely I I would of removed the offending pictures and now I will have to check on the copyright laws as I thort you had to put you copyright mark on a picture to make I yours still I may be wrong as I do not now the copyright laws. Don't worry LynnRose I will be letting sleeping dogs lie and see what happens He did not register till Date Registered: 14 Sept, 2012, 1:30 so how did I now he was coming back (I can her the X-Files theme tune now ;o)
