Exorcist: The Beginning (August 19/04)
There's been a tremendous struggle to bring Exorcist: The Beginning to theaters, and having seen the end result, it's hardly been worth it. John Frankenheimer was originally set to direct the film, but after he passed away, Paul Schrader got the gig instead.

The film opens with a bizarre ritualistic ceremony ruled over by Malcolm Graves (Michael Des Barres), whose attempts to sacrifice his own baby son are rendered fruitless (it probably doesn't help that he tried to snatch a baby from its mother's arms).

King Arthur (February 11/05)
It's becoming increasingly clear that Antoine Fuqua should probably stick to films that revolve around the streets, ie Training Day. With Tears of the Sun and now King Arthur, it's obvious that the filmmaker's slick sense of style just isn't compatible with certain kinds of movies.

Vampire at Midnight (1987)
Count Drac (Vintas) is unalive and well and living in Beverly Hills. He is a hypnotherapist. As might be expected, there's a lot of necking of one form or another. The barely existent plot is padded out with a sequence of dirty dancing and several pairs of naked breasts. Also, the dumb detective (Williams) gets handcuffed to his bed and raped by a lustful colleague. It's OK, she's a woman. Scares don't come into it, and the general corn-flakiness of the whole enterprise just goes to show that old Terror Teeth was one of the very first cereal killers.
