I think it's dying for everyone, I abandoned my POP email years ago in favour of web based ones like Yahoo, Gmail and Hotmail and don't even check those unless I'm expecting something like validating an email address for a software installation. Close friends use texts or Facebook, mostly texts and emails are invariably just a tool for business nowadays. Emails might not be dead, but they're a bit poorly

I do check my email every day, but like Mikkh, only use Webmail which in my case is GoogleMail.
I have an iPod Touch connected by Wi-fi at home and work so I can keep in contact daily with my daughter in Australia, but I use Apps for that. They are much easier and faster than typing an email. I also have a Photobucket app, so upload pics frequently taken with iPod Touch in an album my daughter has access to and she does the same. Also can snap a pic with the Touch and send pic or video instantly to her iPhone and also voice messages. Very rarely do we type an email to each other as we have no need to. I keep in touch via Twitter private messages with my brother. Also have Skype app, so can have a web cam chat when needed. So times are changing for everyone really. Email virtually replaced letter writing and a trip to the Post Office, but now Apps, Social Media, online photo albums etc are replacing emails.
There you go, longest message I have written in ages on CIT, lol
PS...Visiting family tomorrow (they live 2 hours away) Taking my Touch and a Santa hat, so I can video each person with the hat on and giving a short Xmas message for my daughter, then uploading to Photobucket album in a new folder and will send a link to the album for her on Christmas Day!
