An article in the NYT highlights the growing criticisms of Steve Jobs and questions his actual contribution to computers. For the record, I have, along with others often criticised Apple. Though I don't recall making any personal attacks on Mr Jobs. I am sorry that he has died and that he was so young. Few can do anything but aplaud his business successes. But the realities remain as before. Apple stuff is over priced. It has a poor preformance. It is tied to Apple software which is over priced. It makes preposterus claims that would embarrase Fox News. It is not so much full of spyware as designed to be spyware. It is, in fact, spyware with a few useful features build in. The sole reason it sells is that is is fashionable. That fact alone makes it interesting as a reflection of the current state of western culture. (Actually, that makes it facinating!! ;D ) Anyway, It's nice to rant. It's nice to be nice to the nice. www.nytimes.com/2011/11/03/fashion/the-steve-jobs-backlash.html?_r=1&nl=todaysheadlines&emc=tha26
