Just (briefly) passing by...no gossip, enjoying Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon (with a few mods) Not had any major problems.
Running duel boot with Windows 7 although I rarely use 7 now. Also running Ubuntu within Windows 7 with TeamViewer to help out my mother if required. Bless her, she is in her middle 70's and showed an interest in Linux, asked me to help put it on her laptop.
I chose Ubuntu for her as it's quite straight forward, not to mention fairly popular. She is really enjoying the experience, and of course, with TeamViewer (yes, also for Linux) installed on both our laptops, I can now help her out any-time. She doesn't live that close to us so the super-fast, fibre-optic, broadband sure is a real benefit for us
Anyway, cheers for now and lol...not that brief after all Geeza/Billy

I was one once after MicroCrap stopped WindowsXP support, trying a couple or three Distros on that PC, settling on Mint 17, worked well.
Now retired sitting in storage in my Bedroom, OFC, Drum room, awaiting for me to get around taking out the HD to drill holes in it, but is an HP Slimline and is a PIA to take apart, the way they designed that cramped PC. But is is password protected, so probably useless to anyone getting it after I'M GONE, LOL.
Plus the CMOS battery in that is probably so dead by now, I assume making the machine useless anyway :-)
