Well, here we go for our first project of the New Year, and I thought we might have a go at Pets. Cats, dogs, goldfish, budgies, any of your favourite household animals are welcome. As my hands are a bit shaky at the moment, and everything I try to paint looks like an abstract, I cheated , and used a pic off the 'Net as a starting point, then fiddled about with brushes and filters to get this result. Looking forward to seeing what you can do. ;D

LOL ;D, good one Ken, means I lost a bet with myself that it would be phoney who posted a "mouse".

It was an odds on bet that someone would Nocky. Its the only pet I've got, since the last of my rats died a year ago. Unless the spiders in the hallway count. I could probably draw one of them as well.

I think I read somewhere Ken, the average house has at least 7 spiders in residence, and as the kids play with them, I suppose we could stretch a point, and call them pets. ;D

What filter are you using KC? Pics look like woodcuts.

The nellyfant was done with pencil and a lot of cloning in Coral, then imported into Misro$oft Picture Manager and auto-enhanced. I do that quite a bit, get a picture until I like it and auto-enhance it. Picure Manager usually gets the little bit extra that I cant get by hand. I can always undo it if I dont like what it does.
The wabits were done in coloured pencil and I played with the brightness and contrast until I was happy with it. I put the copyright in with Picture Manager, its easier to use than the Coral.
The hardest part is selecting the right picture to play with. I'm only just starting with Coral PSP Photo x 2 and Ive got a lot to learn. It warns you sometimes if you select a wrong tool and will even ask if you want to change it to something else.

Above is the original picture of my cat
I used PI7 Effect, Special, Emboss That was too easy, so I coloured in certain parts using the Airbrush tool

Very nice Lynnrose. Embossing is good, but a little bit on the plain side. That little bit of enhancement really sets it off. I love the eyes, you can feel it looking at you.

Thanks for the info Ken, might try that myself........just saw your post KC, very nice. Very impressive LR , as Ken said, the eyes and touch of colour really does the business.

I made a mistake Nocky, its paint I use for the copyright on little pictures. There's no texting with Picture Manager, just the tools. I like the cropping tool in Picture Manager, you can see exactly what your doing. Copyrighting is better in Coral, but I can only manage it on big pictures. Like I said I've got a lot to learn about it yet.

I had a play with it and the puddy tat was suppose to be on a transparent background, but it didn't come out like that. Still don't know why.

You'd have to save it as a gif or png file Ken, for it to show transparent.

Thanks Roz I think I cracked it, although I doubt if Lynnose will recognise it as her puddy tat now.
