I stumbled across this by accident and went looking on their site for a link to it. I didn't look too hard, but it's not made obvious this free version exists - because they'd rather sell you the full retail version of course Paragon back up and partition manager now comes in a free cut down version for home users. It contains all the features a home user might need and comes in both 32 and 64 bit versions. www.paragon-software.com/home/db-express/features.html

I love Paragon Partition Manager. I have use it for quite a few years and have the Full Pro version 10. I got a cheap upgrade to v. 10 having bought the earier versions. Version 10 is the only one that works within Win7, although the earlier versions will work from disk at bootup. So if you can get hold of a Pro v. 2007 or v. 9 Pro on disk, you will have all the features except the automatic backup if using Win7. Version 9 will work within Vista but not Win7 and v. 2007 will work within XP. I have always made my own backup images, so as not to have it running in the background. Win7 has Windows automatic backup, which I have tried and it works very well. It works very much like Paragon, but Windows Backup doesn't have all the other features of Paragon. Even the cut down version of Paragon 10, will probably be a very handy tool to have. Von if you read this; its what your friend needs to expand her C: drive, if she insists on doing it.
