My boss was trying to install camera software on his dell laptop running Vista and something went wrong He can access the internet vai the dell dock bit he cannot click on the start to bring up the programs also the time has set itself wrong and he cannot change it I think its a desktop problem so any help greatly appreaciated

Either use Safe Mode to get in and uninstall the camera program, or use System Restore to go back to before he put the software in. The second is probably his best bet. If its Kodak software, tell him to throw it away and use a card reader to read the memory card. Kodak software is the worst invention since the parachute that opens on impact.

Ken - Snap I had written almost same solution except before I finished my screen froze and I couldn't post the reply except for the comment on Kodak software. Came back in and thought odd I didn't say all that

He managed to get it into Safe Mode and everything was ok so he booted it back into normal mode and everything was ok
Computers can be weird at times

Its good when someone can break a computer and laugh about it. Mine just keep me broke, but I just laugh and say better me than my computers.
