Something really strange happened to my lappy last night - the desk top went sideways on and I couldnt get the mouse to go where I wanted it to - it would only go around the outside of the screen and I have NO idea why - eventually I coaxed the mouse to go (tho beit slowly) to start/restart but tried it twice to no avail. I then went for system restore and that worked - the lappy is 4 years old and I run XP wirelessly if you have any ideas as to why this might happen I would be most interested, never happened to me before thanks Ann

You rotate the screen by using key combination Ctrl Alt and arrow key.

yeah alternatively you can rotate it via your display settings, you can also disable the hotkeys so you don't accidently rotate it again.
eg on my laptop I have ATI Catalyst Control Centre (access by right-clicking on desktop) from there select Hotkeys then Hotkeys Manager. From the 'List Hotkeys for' dropdown box select 'Displays Manager' then uncheck all 4 rotate display options
Instructions for yours may differ slightly depending on your graphics driver
