I run Googlemail as an addition to my Hotmail account.
This evening when I double clicked the 'googlemail' icon the following box popped up.
Do you want to save this file. Name: mail Type: unknown file type 219 bytes From: mail.google.com Save or cancel
I firstly cancelled but on double clicking the googlemail icon again, the same box came up.
I then tried saving the file but again on double clicking the googlemail icon, the dialogue box came up again.
I rebooted the system but no change. Because the box comes up each time googlemail does not boot up at all.
Anyone with any bright ideas how to get rid of this box and contents please?

I just got the exact same message, but I was able to click cancel and then my back button and gmail opened up fine. They are probably just having a few problems Try logging in here
If the same message appears, click on your back button.

I run all my mail via Windows live mail, so get google, hotmail, yahoo mail and my ISP in one click of the mouse.

Thanks Lynnrose,
I didn't have a 'back' button as I boot from a desktop icon.
I did however boot from your 'here' link and that worked. I then shutdown Googlemail and clicked on my usual icon and up it came. Have not tried after rebooting the system yet.

You're welcome, maybe you could re-new the desktop icon
