Hi - I'm struggling and would value some help please.
I use Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Messenger - usually it works well and is really a version of Outlook.
I am receiving pop ups from WLM telling me I have emails from trusted contacts but these do not appear in my inbox.
I have checked the safe senders folder and the blocked senders folder and all is OK there. I have downloaded and installed the latest Windows Messenger 2009.
I have tried to get help from MS but I get pushed around from pillar to post and still get no where.
Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.
Thank you.

It could be a couple of things, either the emails have already been opened/deleted or the server is too busy. If your sure you haven't deleted the emails (or a spam filter hasn't removed them) then try again later. If you still get the problem then try repairing Messenger
Windows Vista
1. Click Start , and then click Control Panel. 2. Click Classic View. 3. Double-click Programs and Features. 4. In the List of Programs, select Windows Live Messenger. 5. Right-click and select Repair.
Windows XP SP2
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2. Click Classic View. 3. Select Add or Remove Programs. 4. In the List of Programs, select Windows Live Messenger. 5. Click Change, and then click Repair.
Let us know if that helps

These pages are from 2008, but seem to be having the same problem as you.
Sample temp fix here...
It also might be worth setting Windows Live Mail or Hotmail as your main program in Internet Explorer......Tools tab, Internet Options, Programs, Email.
